Meet Pastor Doug

We're excited to welcome Associate Pastor Doug Domin and his wonderful wife Linda to Peace Church. Here's your chance to get to know a little more about the Domin's history and journey to Peace...

Where are you from originally? Where are some of the highlight places you've lived since then?

"I grew up in Deerfield, IL, which is outside of Chicago, and moved to Louisville, KY, my sophomore year of high school. I later moved to Boca Raton, FL, where I attended Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and met Linda in January of 1978. We were married a little over a year later and after two years of living in Boca Raton we attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. The longest place we've lived was in New Hampshire where we raised our three boys. While in New Hampshire we both learned to ski and I learned to snowboard, which took me many, many falls before being able to make it down the mountain unscathed!"

What is the story of your coming to Christ?

"What brought me into a relationship with Jesus Christ was a profound emptiness in my life as a teenager that I couldn’t fill with what the popular culture defined as fun. I remember one philosopher saying that within every person is a God-shaped void that only God himself can fill. I was raised in a home where God’s word, Jesus, and the church were highly valued. My parents, in a genuine and normal way, impressed upon me my need to know Jesus. Growing up I knew Jesus Christ was to be the center of my life but I resisted what I later realized was the Holy Spirit convicting me of sin. By God’s grace in my senior year of high school I was born again."

How did you and Linda meet? What do you like most about her?

"Linda and I met at a Bible Study. We both had recently been converted and God had given us a love for His word and His work. I love that she is  committed to Christ and His church and loyal to the people in her life."

What was your past position, and what were your main roles and projects?

I church planted for 19 years in Concord, NH, where we saw God establish a church of committed followers of Jesus Christ that eventually resulted in a church wide effort to purchase and renovate an existing facility into a worship and fellowship center for gospel ministry. I did everything as a church planter, from pastoring and teaching to snow clearing on side walks and the church roof during heavy winters. As a church and presbytery we were part of planting and renewing of churches in northern New England."

What excites you and Linda about being at Peace now?

"The opportunity to have a impact on the lives of people and to see God bring new people to faith through a spiritually growing and committed fellowship of Christ followers."
