As a parent, you want your child to grow up to be a self-reliant, dependable and caring individual. Scouting has these same goals in mind. Since 1910, we have been weaving lifetime values into fun and educational activities designed to assist parents in strengthening character, good citizenship and physical fitness in youth.
Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program designed specifically to address the needs of younger boys. Cub Scouting runs year round and is available for boys 7 to 10 years of age. For more information, please contact the church office. We meet at Peace Presbyterian Church most Wednesday nights at 7 PM.
Boy Scouting is designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult scoutmaster. Boy Scouting runs year round and is available for boys 11 to 18 years of age. For more information, please contact the church office. We meet at Peace Presbyterian Church most Tuesday nights at 7 PM.
Sea Scouts is a coed high adventure program for 14 to 21 year-old young adults. Celebrating 98 years, we are Scouting’s second oldest program and its best kept secret. The Peace Ship, Dawn Treader, operates various vessels including a 19’ powerboat, a 22’ sailboat, a 28’ pontoon boat, small sailboats, canoes, and kayaks. Our home waters are Jordan Lake and Kerr Lake, where we’re developing a Sea Scout lake base. Our association with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary provides us strong training opportunities and emphasis on safe boating. For information, please visit www.sss244.org.
