Prayer #104: For COVID and Non-COVID Patients in Hospitals
Most people who contract the COVID-19 virus do not have to be admitted to a hospital, but about 20% of them do. This has created a great challenge for hospitals: to care for COVID patients while protecting their non-COVID patients from the contagion. Considerable attempts are being made to keep COVID patients in strict isolation within the hospital, which has in many cases been hard to achieve, since many COVID patients are in need of intensive care, and the number of ICU units are limited in hospitals. Visitation in hospitals is forbidden, both to protect its patients from being exposed to the virus, and also, to protect visitors from catching it from COVID patients they are treating. Hospitals have had to do frequent cleaning of common areas---lobbies, waiting rooms, restrooms, etc., and everyone in the building must wear a mask and frequently use hand sanitizer. All incoming patients are screened for COVID-19. Doctors, nurses, and staff working directly with COVID-19 patients are needing to be especially careful to protect themselves.
Today we want to lift up those who work in hospitals and those who are presently patients in hospitals, both COVID-19 patients and non-COVID-19 patients. Pray for wisdom for doctors and nurses treating COVID patients, and for the healing of those with the virus who have dangerous complications from it. Pray for God's protection for these medical staff working directly with COVID patients. Pray also for protection for the many non-COVID patients in hospitals.
Ps. 36:7: "How precious is Your steadfast love, O God. The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of Your wings."
