Prayer #121: For Landlord and Renting Tenants During the Coronavirus Crisis
During these months of the COVID-19 outbreak, individuals unable to make their rent payments due to loss of work during the Coronavirus restrictions have been protected from eviction by the Federal Eviction Moratorium, which is set to expire tomorrow. According to weekly Census Bureau data, nearly 12 million people in our country currently live in households that missed at least their last rent payment, and 23 million are not confident that they will be able to make the next month's payment. With weekly unemployment benefits due to expire at the end of this month, the situation is grim for these renters who are out of work. On the other hand, tenants, receiving less rent money, are also experiencing economic woes.
Presently, the President and Congress are negotiating on a new round of economic relief. Wisdom is needed to know how much relief is now needed versus it becoming a disincentive to going back to work as the economy is beginning to reopen.
Pray for wisdom for the President and Congress as they discuss the upcoming relief package during the continuance of the COVID-19 virus. Pray for both the renters and the tenants, both of whom are experiencing economic troubles. Pray for God's gracious provision to them during this hard time.
Matt: 7:7: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
