Prayer #129: For the Possible Decrease in COVID Cases and Deaths
The Assistant Secretary for Health, Admiral Brett Giroir, one of President Trump's top Coronavirus advisors, stated yesterday that the number of deaths from COVID-19 should start to decrease soon, although Americans will still need to continue using masks and observing social distancing. "What you're seeing right now is that the positivity rate is down, the number of cases is starting to go down, the hospitalizations are going down," he said. "But the unfortunate, sad fact, is the mortality, the deaths, will lag a couple of weeks. So, I'm not making any promises here, but if everything follows, we should start seeing the number of deaths go down in a couple of weeks. And then it's up to us. If we do the things we know so well now that work---we have evidence on top of evidence that simple mask-wearing, if everybody does it, can completely reverse this---then we're not going to see [any new increases]. But if we don't do that until we get a vaccine, 90 percent of the population is still at risk to get this virus and that could be catastrophic if we don't do those kinds of actions we're asking."
Pray that indeed, as the wearing of face masks continue and social distancing is consistently observed, the number of COVID cases across the country would decrease and the number of deaths would then go down. Pray for the discipline of the American people to take these precautionary measures during this time. Pray for God's continued protection in the face of this virulent virus.
Ps: 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
