Prayer #167: For the Ventilation in Aging School Buildings During the Coronavirus Crisis
On average, school buildings across the United States are 44 years old. With the outbreak of COVID-19, great attention is being given to the quality of ventilation in them. In some cases, there simply is not adequate ventilation for the buildings to be used during the pandemic. In New York City, for example, which has the nation's largest public school system, there are 21 schools that will remain closed until their ventilation systems are repaired. In each case, there are faulty ventilation systems that were discovered following an evaluation of 1,485 buildings in the city. Staff from these buildings are working temporarily from home. New York City schools are scheduled to have in-school instruction in September, and it is hoped that these repairs will have been completed by then.
Pray for school buildings across the country as, in some places, in-school instruction will be starting. Pray for the careful evaluation of these buildings, especially the older ones, for adequate ventilation. Pray for prompt repairs before the buildings are occupied for school this fall.
Is. 41:10: "Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
