Prayer #182: For a Possible Increase in COVID-19 Cases in Minnesota
The state of Minnesota may possibly be undergoing an uptick in COVID-19 cases. For the first time since this past spring, the number of current hospitalizations due to the virus has risen above 300. Of these, 148 are in intensive care due to breathing problems or other complications. Today, six COVID deaths were reported by the Minnesota Department of Health, and 690 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 infections. This raises the state's totals to 92,100 reported infections and 1,985 deaths. Three of the deaths reported today in Minnesota were at long-term care and assisted living facilities. Nearly half of the deaths in the past month have been at these facilities. Five of the six deaths reported today were for people 70 or over, with the sixth one being in the 60-64 range. Health officials have been monitoring the COVID situation very closely since Labor Day and the resumption of K-12 and college classes.
Pray for the COVID-19 situation in the state of Minnesota today. Pray that what appears to be an increase in the virus cases would quickly subside. Pray for wisdom for public health officials and civic leaders there as they monitor the progress of the virus very closely. Pray for God to watch over the residents of Minnesota, particularly those in long-term and assisted living facilities and those 70 and older.
Ps. 121:2: "I lift my eyes unto the hills. From where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."
