Prayer #194: For Restaurants During COVID-19 As Colder Weather Comes
As we move into fall, colder weather has arrived, particularly in the northern areas of the country. This brings acute challenges for restaurants during the COVID-19 outbreak since outdoor dining will be less desirable. Restaurants in most states are still under capacity limits. Some restaurants, with such limits on indoor dining, have found it uneconomical to open for inside eating at all, and have been relying on a combination of take-out and outdoor dining in order to stay in business. With the latter quickly becoming less of an option, many restaurants are again in danger of folding. Previous funding from the Payroll Protection Program will not carry these businesses through the winter, and they will miss out on the normal influx of business for holiday parties. Many restaurants are in arrears for rent to the building landlords. Industry experts fear that this coming winter, many restaurants that have been desperately hanging on will finally fold.
Pray for restaurants across the United States as colder weather is now upon us. An estimated 15.6 million people are employed at restaurants in our country. Pray for the survival of these businesses through the winter. Pray that the COVID-19 virus would subside so that indoor dining could resume in full capacity.
1 Chr. 16:11: "Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually."
