Prayer #207: For Airlines and Air Travel as the COVID-19 Virus Continues
U.S. airlines believe that it may be years before they recover from the effect that COVID-19 has had upon their industry. Presently, the volume of air travel is more than 60% lower than at this time a year ago. Now that the $25 billion of stimulus money has been completely spent, both planes and frequent-flyer programs have been mortgaged, but still, substantial amounts of money continue to be lost. United and Delta together, for instance, lost $16.8 billion in the first nine months of this year. Both of these airlines have reduced their workforce by 20%. United has furloughed 13,000 employees.
Pray for the airline industry, which is suffering immensely from the effects of COVID-19 on air travel. Pray for economic relief from this crippling situation. Pray for God to provide for the many employees who have been furloughed.
Ps. 145:8: "The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy."
