Prayer #208: For Elementary and High School Students Back in School
It had been feared that when elementary and high school students returned to in-person classes, schools would become the center of "super-spreader" COVID-19 outbreaks. Schools are still closed for classes in many places across the country, but there are many places where students are in class, and the statistics of Coronavirus infections at these places are very encouraging. A team of researchers under Dr. Emily Oster of Brown University recently looked at the statistics for 200,000 students in 47 states for the last two weeks of September. These showed a very low 0.13% for students and 0.24% for staff. This translates to just 1.3 infections for every 1,000 students and 2.4 infections for every 1000 staff workers at the schools.
Give thanks to God for these low COVID-19 infection rates at schools where students are attending in-person classes. Continue to pray for God's protection for students, teachers, school staff, and administration at these schools.
Heb. 4:16: "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
