Prayer #215: For California's Encouraging Reduction in COVID-19
In late September, civic and health officials in California were very concerned that the COVID-19 virus was going to resurge strongly in the state, and they at that time forecast an 89% increase in hospitalizations due to the virus over the next 30 days. Thankfully, this has not occurred. In fact, the COVID-related hospitalizations have gone down slightly, by 1.3%. Overall, the hospitalizations continue to decline from the peak in late July, when there were more than 8,400 patients in the hospital due to the virus. As of yesterday, there were about 2,969 people hospitalized from the Coronavirus.
To be sure, this latter number is still a serious level of COVID hospitalizations, but we do want to thank God that the expected COVID-19 resurgence in California has not occurred. Pray that God's hand of mercy would continue to hold the virus back in this populous state.
Ps. 147:11: "But the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His steadfast love."
