Prayer #218: For a Possible COVID-19 Mutation in Europe
As a new wave of the COVID-19 virus is coursing through Europe, a new study, just released by a research team at the University of Basel in Switzerland, indicates that a mutational variant of the virus may possibly be responsible for the European renewal of COVID-19. This study has yet to be peer-reviewed, and so is still tentative. The COVID-19 variant, 20A.EU1, was first observed in Spain in June and has been found at frequencies of above 40% since July. It has also been found at rates of between 40-70% in countries such as Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. It has also been observed in France, Norway, the Netherlands, and Latvia. Though this variant may possibly be responsible for this new wave of COVID-19 in Europe, it is too soon to say that for sure. There is as yet no evidence that this mutation "increases transmission or impacts the clinical outcome," the authors of the study concluded.
Pray today that this mutation of the COVID-19 would not be virulent and lead to an increase in the infections of the virus. Pray for God's mercy and power, that He would eradicate this worldwide pestilence.
Is. 41:10: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
