Prayer #225: For Australia's Very Low Number of COVID-19 Cases

During a time when the COVID-19 virus is rising in many places in the world, in Australia the opposite is true. In fact, the Down Under nation at the end of October had reported no new locally Coronavirus cases for the first time in 5 months. In Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria, which at one time had the highest number of COVID cases, restaurants and cafés were open for weekend walk-in business for the first time in a good while. There are now only 61 active cases of COVID-19 remaining in that state. Nonetheless, political and health officials issued a caution concerning the Melbourne Cup race, which occurred two days ago. This is the Kentucky Derby of Australia, which typically draws 100,000 or more people, but this year will not be watched in person. But, it was anticipated that many would-be gatherings in pubs to watch the race. Masks and social distancing remain in place in Australia, as health officials want to stay on top of the virus.

We thank God for the very low presence of COVID-19 in Australia. Pray that this would continue and that it would become one of them in the world where the virus is eradicated.

Ps. 138:7: "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me."
