Prayer #228: For Greece During a Major Spike in COVID-19

Greece has begun its second nationwide lockdown, with COVID-19 spiking too much higher levels than previously. The lockdown began yesterday at daybreak and will continue until at least the end of November. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that he decided to act sooner rather than later before the hospitals are overwhelmed. All retail stores except those selling essential items such as food, medication, and fuel are to be closed. Travel inside the country is being severely restricted. People are only allowed to leave their homes for work, physical exercise, taking children to school, taking a pet for a walk, shopping for groceries or medicine, visiting people who need assistance, or medical reasons. They can only leave after texting the authorities, providing their name, address, and reason for leaving home. When they are out of their house, citizens must carry identification and, if they are unable to text, a movement form detailing why they are out of their house. On Saturday, Greece recorded 2,556 new Coronavirus cases and 34 deaths.

Pray for the nation of Greece as it is going through this severe lockdown. Pray that this would not impair Greece's already fragile economy. Pray that this spike in COVID-19 would quickly subside.

Ps. 73:28: "But for me, it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works."
