Prayer #232: For the Navaho Nation's Major Outbreak of COVID-19
Twenty-nine communities on the Navaho Nation, a 27,000 square mile reservation in Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico, are experiencing a robust resurgence of COVID-19. Back in May, the Navaho Nation had one of the highest Coronavirus infection rates in the country, and now it has returned with a vengeance. The Navaho Department of Health and the Navaho Office of Environmental Health and Protection Program jointly thus issued a public health emergency order on November 4th, implementing a 56-hour curfew for the following two weekends and closing even the most essential businesses during this curfew. Navaho officials have stated that cluster cases have occurred in these 29 communities which are, they said, a "direct result of family gatherings and off-Reservation travel and have resulted in an uncontrolled spread."
Pray for the Navaho Nation during this surge in COVID-19. Pray that these curfew measures would be successful in mitigating the spread of the virus. Pray especially for the elderly Navahos, who are most vulnerable to COVID-19.
Ps. 36:5: "Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds."
