Prayer #251: For New Jersey in its Latest COVID-19 Outbreak
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced a few days ago that there were new restrictions going into effect starting this coming weekend due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in that state. Under these restrictions, all indoor sports for high school and youth have been temporarily suspended. This will last until at least January 2nd. Health officials have reported that there have been 20 outbreaks among youth sports activities and a resulting 100 cases of the virus. In addition, under the new restrictions, outdoor gatherings will be limited to 25 people, down from the previous 150-person limit. The only exceptions will be religious services, funerals, memorial services, and weddings. Outdoor dining will be unaffected by the new rules. New Jersey has experienced a seven-day average of 4,018 cases of COVID-19 per day, up 14% from two weeks earlier.
Pray for the citizens of New Jersey, Governor Murphy, the state's health officials, and medical personnel across the state during this significant surge in COVID-19. Pray that these measures would help in containing the spread of the virus and that the daily cases would soon decrease.
1 Pet. 5:6-7: "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you."
