Daily Prayer During the Coronavirus Crisis

Prayer #294: For the Continued Onslaught of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom

COVID-19 continues to rise in the United Kingdom. That nation has the highest number of deaths in Europe, with more than 83,000. The U.K.'s health care system has announced that it is moving thousands of the less-severe COVID patients into hotels in order to alleviate the overload at its hospitals. These patients discharged early into a hotel will receive care from voluntary organizations such as St. John Ambulance, the British Red Cross, armed forces medical personnel, and any available National Health Service (NHS) staff. The patients being transferred are no longer extremely unwell and do not necessarily need a hospital. NHS leaders fear that the existence of the new strain of COVID-19 there, which is considerably more contagious, may result in a complete overwhelming of the hospital system if steps are not taken.

Pray that this step of transferring COVID patients in the United Kingdom who are less sick to hotels will be done safely and that it will keep the hospitals there from being overwhelmed. Let's continue to be praying for the United Kingdom, which is experiencing an especially difficult rise in the virus.

Ps. 94:19: "When the cares of my heart are many, Your consolations cheer my soul."
