Prayer #298: For International Travel As COVID-19 Continues to Rise
The Centers for Diseases Control (CDC) has indicated that it will be issuing a directive on Tuesday that will require everyone traveling into the United States from other countries to test negative for COVID-19, effective January 26. Travelers will be required to have received a negative test within 3 days before their flight to the United States and to provided written documentation (paper or electronic) of their laboratory test results. The CDC order reads: "Before departure to the United States, a required test, combined with the CDC recommendations to get tested again 3-5 days after arrival and stay home for 7 days post-travel, will help slow the spread of COVID-19 within U.S. communities from travel-related infection. Pre-departure testing with results known and acted upon before travel begins will help identify infected travelers before they board airplanes." This CDC order comes after a rise in COVID-19 in the United Kingdom and other countries following the rise of a new strain of the virus which is more transmittable, though thankfully, not resistant to the new vaccines.
Pray for travelers and airline companies as this new directive will be soon in place. Pray for the ready availability of the needed COVID-19 testing for travelers coming into the United States. Pray that this measure would help to curb the spread of the virus in this country.
Ps. 103:17: "But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children."
