Prayer #328: For COVID-19 Vaccinations in North Carolina Since December

The population of North Carolina is about 10.49 million people, and as of yesterday, the vast majority of people (many not eligible yet) have yet to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in the state. Below, from data posted on WRAL's COVID-19 page on its website, are the numbers of vaccinations since the latter part of December:

Week of 12/21
43,488 (first dose)

Week of 12/28
50,694 (first dose)

Week of 1/4
87,803 (first dose)
22,454 (second dose)

Week of 1/11
162,251 (first dose)
34,066 (second dose)

Week of 1/18
275,431 (first dose)
34,075 (second dose)

Week of 1/25
195,432 (first dose)
73,305 (second dose)

Week of 2/1
160,066 (first dose)
125,940 (second dose)

Week of 2/8
144,329 (first dose)
202,750 (second dose)

According to this data, there have been 1,119,434 first doses administered, and 492,588 second doses. North Carolina, like most states, continues to struggle to get enough of the vaccine even to vaccinate those of first priority, which are frontline workers and people 65 and older. Many even in these categories have not yet been able to get vaccinated. The ability to produce, deliver and administer COVID-19 vaccines to many millions of people in as rapid a manner as possible continues to be a challenging problem.

Pray that all higher-risk people and frontline healthcare workers could receive a COVID-19 vaccination soon, during the remainder of this month. Continue to pray for all those involved in the manufacture of the vaccines, their delivery, and, as well, those giving the shots. With such a considerable demand, those helping with this process are working long hours.

Ps. 86:11: "Teach me Thy way, O LORD, that I may walk in Thy truth; unite my heart to fear Thy name."
