Prayer #5: Pray as We Stay at Home
As of right now, there are 27 states that have issued stay-at-home orders. These states total more than 225 million people, about 2/3 of our national population. Like North Carolina, in most of these states, there are limits to leaving home. Travel to grocery stores and pharmacies are allowed, caregivers are allowed to go to those they are taking care of. There are other exceptions, but by and large, state and local governments are mandating that people generally remain at home. It is indeed a new experience for us all!
Let's pray today as these hundreds of millions of people across our country, and in many other parts of the world as well, are basically restricted to home. Pray for needed contact to continue, though the internet and phone, so that those in need are cared for. Pray especially for widows and widowers, and singles---that they would not suffer from isolation. Pray that God would use this enforced confinement to cause many to turn to Him, as they consider God in the midst of all that is happening. Pray that many people, around the world, would be saved!! Pray that the Church would be an instrument of love, care, and compassion as Christians reach out by phone or e-mail, to those who may be needy during this time.
Is. 45:22 " 'Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God and there is no other."
