Prayer #53: For Large Cities During the Coronavirus Crisis
As some U.S. states are beginning the early phases of opening up by relaxing some of the COVID-19 restrictions, one of the challenges in doing this occurs in the more populated areas---in particular the major cities in our nation. The reason for these challenges is that these urban areas are where there are higher population densities, and thus, a higher probability that the virus can spread. U.S. cities where there have been a greater number of Coronavirus cases and deaths include New York City, New Orleans, Boston, Detroit, New Haven, and Providence. In these and other cities decisions are having to be made, especially by the mayors of these cities, whether a slower reopening schedule is needed than the rest of the state in which they are located. Much wisdom is needed now regarding this.
Pray for the mayors of the large U.S. cities that are having to decide the timetable of the reopening of their cities from the COVID-19 restrictions. Ask God to give them great wisdom. Pray that each of them would be provided with the best information possible so that the most informed decision---one in which millions of people are affected---can be made.
Proverbs 3:13: "Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding."
