Prayer #72: For Christ-Centered Hope and Evangelism During the Coronavirus Crisis and the Present National Unrest
Times like this present opportunities, like we rarely have, for the Gospel of Christ to shine forth. I've really seen that personally in the last several days in the worship/prayer gatherings in downtown Raleigh that I have been part of (I hope to send out a report on these either today or tomorrow). In this time of national tragedy, many are seeking hope. The true hope, we know, is Jesus. We know that God is at work, in His Son, within history to bring forth a future in which all things will be made new (Rev. 21:5). It's good to remember that in times like these. His purposes will come to pass. Knowing this to be so, we are indeed to be a people of hope.
People in our neighborhoods and our towns and cities need for us to give us an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that we have (1 Pet. 3:15). What open doors there are right now for the Gospel! Let's pray that many would come to Christ during this time of the COVID-19 virus and the current unrest in our cities. People need the Lord.
We pray that truly we can share "Christ in us, the hope of glory." (Col. 1:27). We pray that the Gospel will run and triumph during this time of uncertainty, fear, and turmoil. Pray that many people would come to Christ during these days.
Rom. 15:13: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
