The Gospel of Matthew: The Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God is the theme of this Gospel. Jesus came announcing that God’s rule had come through the powerful ministry of Jesus, which fulfilled the promise God gave in Genesis 3. What is this “kingdom”? What is Jesus teaching when he taught his followers to pray, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done”? This class will examine this theme that Matthew, the redeemed tax collector, focused on as he followed Jesus. This Gospel is to “inspire Christians to grateful and faithful service” as Matthew shows that Jesus fulfilled God’s plan of redemption. Led by Todd Blonshine (Fellowship Hall).
