Chris grew up in Brownsville, Texas before attending Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. While at A&M, he came to faith in Jesus through the ministry of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF). Chris earned his Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, his Master of Science in Social Work degree with a concentration in adult mental health and chemical dependency from the University of Texas at Austin, and pursued his Doctor of Philosophy degree in higher education leadership and teaching at St. Louis University.
He has served in a variety of areas over the years - Senior Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Shepherding at Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Rock Hill, SC, Vice President in the Academics Department, Interim Director of the Center for Ministry Leadership, the Interim Director for the Doctor of Ministry program, and an assistant professor of practical theology at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. Chris has also served churches in Augusta, GA, Severna Park, MD, and Sturgis, SD throughout his years of ordained ministry in the PCA.
He is married to Suzy who he met at RUF while attending Texas A&M. Chris and Suzy have been married since 1995 and have one daughter, Bailey, who is a freshman at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. In his free time, you might find Chris kayaking or hiking with Suzy, barbecuing brisket, cooking Mexican food, watching baseball, or reading.
