Mercy and care ministries at Peace are comprised of these teams...
Mercy Ministry - The mercy team provides service, prayer, financial support, encouragement, and other forms of general care to Peace members, members of our sister church, Wesleyan First Church of Deliverance in Raleigh, and special cases from our community. While church deacons serve as the primary leaders and decision-makers for mercy ministry, there's always a need for volunteers to be the executors of these offerings.
Comfort & Care - This team coordinates volunteers from the congregation to make sure those who are struggling with financial strain, illness, death in the family, and other forms of suffering are well-loved. They help with funeral details, visit shut-ins, provide meals and support for those who are ill or mourning, offer transportation and "handyman/handywoman" skills, and do whatever else is necessary to be God's tangible love to people at Peace and in the Triangle. Please join us on the fourth Monday of the month in the Peace library at 7 pm (Zoom Meetings during the pandemic - please contact Lou for the Zoom link and more information.)
The Soloist - This team is to build up those who have lost a spouse to death or divorce, particularly late in life. There are regular monthly gatherings for this group to offer companionship through meals, singing and Bible Study.
Caregivers Support Group - The Caregiver Support Group is open to anyone in our congregation and community who cares for a spouse, parent or sibling with dementia or another disability, whether in their home or long distance. This group meets the third Monday of each month in the Peace library to learn coping strategies, explore resources, and encourage one another. Please join us on the third Monday of the month in the Peace library at 7 pm. (Zoom Meetings during the pandemic - please contact Lou for the Zoom link and more information.)
Stephen Ministry - This team is made up of specially trained caregivers who provide one-on-one weekly visits to listen and encourage individuals facing a time of crisis. Stephen ministers work to provide spiritual and emotional support to those who need it most.
